Thank You!

Daily enrichment and learning opportunities are essential to the mental well being of the animals in our care as well as providing them with life skills that will help them become welcome additions to their new adoptive families. We are very excited to be able to provide new enrichment and behavior modification opportunities for our animals thanks to the donations of our dedicated supporters!

Current Fundraising Opportunities!

Here's a couple great ways to support HSBC without it costing you anything!!!!!!

AMAZONSMILE.COM
If you order from Amazon.com you can help support the shelter animals by going to AmazonSmile.com & selecting 'Humane Society of Burnett County, Inc' as your chosen charitable organization. When you do that, Amazon will donate 0.5% of your total purchase to the shelter. Please spread the word to your friends family that order from Amazon.com also.

'WALK FOR A DOG'
If you walk or ride a bike with your dog there is an app for your smart phone that keeps track of the walks & donates to the shelter of your choice according to how many people walk & how far they walk. You can even use the app if you don't have a dog to walk with & they'll still donate. You can learn more about it & get the app at www.WoofTrax.com.

Thank you for your support!

    Hi, my name is Buddy!

Buddy is a 2 ½ year old black lab mix that is worthy of the name; he's everyone's Buddy! This isn’t Buddy’s first time here; adopted as a puppy, he was returned being his family didn’t have enough time to spend with him. He had a little rough start his second time around, he was very timid, wouldn’t accept any treats, and was just having a difficult time adjusting. But he came out of his shell day by day and is an affectionate and gentle young man. He loves his walks, he perks right up as soon as he spots the leash! Volunteers have stated he really has come around in the time he’s been with. One in particular commented that on one of their walks he became more confident in each step, with his tail just a waggin'. He knows commands such a sit, shake, fetch, and drop it and enjoys a game of play. Once he's comfortable, he's very enthusiastic and a star student. But because he is still shy towards certain people, we recommend a home with no small children.

    Hi, my name is Freddie!

Freddie is a 2 month old kitten with some apparent misfortune in his young life. He came to us as a stray, found on the roadside by good Samaritans. On his initial exam we felt a small, moveable lump on his side which, upon a vet visit, was discovered to likely be a shotgun pellet. But luck was on this black cat’s side, as the shotgun likely ricocheted, otherwise it may of cost him his life. He did go through some speculated allergy-related wheezing but he has been vetted and is improving greatly. Appearance-wise, Freddie has a short solid black coat with a small touch of white on his chest with mossy green eyes. A striking resemblance to one of our other kittens up for adoption, Brandy. Freddie is a love machine who’s purr is always going. He’s a gentle soul who loves giving kisses and winning the hearts over everyone who comes his way, certainly one to forgive and forget.

Remember, our August special is two cats (or kittens) for $100, that cost includes their spay/neuter, micro chipping, and vaccinations. Apply to adopt Freddie and a friend today!
