Welcome to the
The Humane Society of Burnett County, Inc.'s mission is to provide a safe haven for stray or unwanted animals, to foster the human-animal bond, to promote responsible pet ownership and to end pet overpopulation through spay/neuter.
Tuesday - Friday: Noon to 5pm
Saturday: 11am to 3pm
Daily enrichment and learning opportunities are essential to the mental well being of the animals in our care as well as providing them with life skills that will help them become welcome additions to their new adoptive families. We are very excited to be able to provide new enrichment and behavior modification opportunities for our animals thanks to the donations of our dedicated supporters!
Here's a couple great ways to support HSBC without it costing you anything!!!!!!
If you order from Amazon.com you can help support the shelter animals by going to AmazonSmile.com & selecting 'Humane Society of Burnett County, Inc' as your chosen charitable organization. When you do that, Amazon will donate 0.5% of your total purchase to the shelter. Please spread the word to your friends family that order from Amazon.com also.
'WALK FOR A DOG'
If you walk or ride a bike with your dog there is an app for your smart phone that keeps track of the walks & donates to the shelter of your choice according to how many people walk & how far they walk. You can even use the app if you don't have a dog to walk with & they'll still donate. You can learn more about it & get the app at www.WoofTrax.com.
Thank you for your support!
Here are some things we could use:
Hi, my name is Nora!
Nora is a 3 month old black and white tuxedo kitten who arrived at our Shelter with her siblings (two sisters and three brothers) and Mother Sylvia. Nora has always been the peacemaker of the bunch, even when her siblings were getting rowdy she would be the black sheep and avoid the confrontation, preferably in her cozy kennel hammock. She is fairly soft spoken and a bit on the shy side but always enjoy visitors. Outside of her kennel she does take a few moments to adapt and come out of her shell, but underneath it all she is a kitten with a vibrant spirit. Previously grouped with her siblings, she now waits alone patiently for her perfect forever home. We can see her in a home with a feline or canine companion alike, or even doing well as an only child.
Hi, my name is Ginger!
Ginger is a sweet petite 2 year old orange tabby who came to our Shelter as a stray. She's not one bit shy of humans but is still getting the hang of being held and relaxing on laps. She has always been a social kitty from day one, approaching each situation with her head held high with great curiosity. She was positively overjoyed by our selection of cat toys--ones that jingle, ones on sticks, and even tricky treat dispensing toys. Ginger goes with the flow in a game of play, though does have an overall tomboy style. Her meows compliments that, a bit lower pitched and raspy but oh so cute! She strums a most beautiful purr that's music to the ears. We suggest a home with no cats for Ginger. She does do well with dogs, given the right respectable personality.
