Here's a couple great ways to support HSBC without it costing you anything!!!!!!
If you order from Amazon.com you can help support the shelter animals by going to AmazonSmile.com & selecting 'Humane Society of Burnett County, Inc' as your chosen charitable organization. When you do that, Amazon will donate 0.5% of your total purchase to the shelter. Please spread the word to your friends family that order from Amazon.com also.
'WALK FOR A DOG'
If you walk or ride a bike with your dog there is an app for your smart phone that keeps track of the walks & donates to the shelter of your choice according to how many people walk & how far they walk. You can even use the app if you don't have a dog to walk with & they'll still donate. You can learn more about it & get the app at www.WoofTrax.com.
Thank you for your support!
Here are some things we could use:
Hi, my name is Sophie!
Sophie is a classy senior at 8 years of age, who came to our Shelter as a surrender due to environmental conflict with the household's new puppy. It was a stressful situation for her, but it's believed it wasn't due to a new resident but the energy level. Sophie has lived with a dog before, and we see her adapting fine to that again just so long as they’re mellow or in her age range. (Though she formally requests a home with no cats.) Sophie is a front declawed brown tabby, weighing in at approximately 10lbs. No doubt she was well taken care of if not a little spoiled in her life. She is a classy feline who is very laid back. When approached she is just a bit shy, but certainly not fearful. Encouragement or a shake of the treat bag (Sophie's preference) is the best way to win her heart. She has a warm elegance to her that is more than just skin deep. She's a wonderful girl who you won't regret meeting.
Hi, my name is Holly!
Holly is a brown round face tabby as well but with hints of orange, aging at approximately 5 years of age who came to our Shelter as a stray. Holly is a young at heart young lady, not too hyper or inactive, but an excellent middle ground. She loves to give hugs - simply open her kennel door and you will be welcomed with a warm embrace. This girl is definitely a snuggler but lays her affection on so smoothly. Give her a cuddle and you'll know exactly the type of cat she is: a gentle, soft hearted, and fun loving young lady. She hasn't shown any signs of adversary towards cats or dogs, but hasn't been officially tested as of yet. We see her doing best with animals around the same mellow temperament. Holly does have a shyer and lack of self confidence side. Change of space does provoke her to hide at times as well as new/sudden noises. Still, it passes over in no time especially with someone by her side. Thinking Holly might be your gal? Don't be shy to come meet her for yourself.
